Mardiana Mohamad is assistant professor of Psychology at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She was a visiting counselling psychologist at the Department of Psychiatry, University Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC) from 2013-2014. She specialises in the area of counselling psychology. She has vast experiences in teaching various courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Introduction to Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Qualitative Research Methods, Personality Psychology, Psychology of Human Relations and Counselling Techniques.
Her research areas include issues, needs and motivation of specific population, social support, drug addiction, inner experiences and personal growth among clients receiving counselling. The findings were written as book chapters, proceedings and journal articles either locally or internationally.
Mardiana has also been invited to deliver talks and training in the area of psychology and counselling as well as qualitative research. She also provides psychological consultancy and services students, staff and public under the Psychology Services Unit, (PSU, IIUM). She is also one of the volunteers with MERCY Malaysia since 2014.
