OUR RESEARCH
-
We focus on need-based research that attends to the needs of the society and have policy-implications. In particular, we are committed to promote individuals and community well-being through research in many areas of specialisation. We also strive for the highest quality scientific investigation that could impact on a range of social, educational, and health-related issues.

We conduct macro level research project that involves all members. Research projects at the Department are interdisciplinary and cover the full range of psychology from basic to applied work. Areas of particular interest among the members include, but are not limited to: work-family, well-being, memory and learning, graduate employability, childcare quality, children’s cognitive and social development, women’s health, commuting stress, public transport crowding, mental health interventions, Islamisation of psychology, employment interview, and psychological assessment.

Using the research-based teaching approach, we adopt a common research theme in our teaching and learning activities. Our PG programmes and research focus thus reflect this niche and research theme.
