The Department, via its Psychology Services Unit (PSU), has an ongoing effort to provide psychosocial support to IIUM students. Together with the e-psychosocial support unit under the IIUM Mental Health and Psychosocial Care Team (IMPaCT), Psychology Students’ Association (PSYCSTA) under the purview of Social, Engagement and Welfare (SEW) Committee, and the IIUM Student Union and KIRKHS Secretariat, a series of activities and programmes have commenced and are ongoing. These include:
Hands-on Training Session on “The Art of Empathic Listening” with two members from IIUM Mental Health and Psychosocial Care Team (IMPaCT), Dr Mardiana Mohamad and Mdm. Nur Aini Suner on April 9th , 2021.
Hands-on Training Session on “Heart-Centered Listening, Attending Behaviour, Active Listening, and Empathy” for the existing and new volunteers of the Peer Psychosocial Support from Psychology Students Association (PSYCSTA), handled by Mdm. Nur Aini Suner, Dr Pamilia Andrew, and Br. Muhammad Haikal on April 16th, 2021.
