Ruhaya Hussin is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Her previous affiliations include Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (2005-2007) and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (2003-2005). Before joining the academia, Ruhaya has been in the field, practicing counselling as a Student Counsellor at UMT.


Ruhaya has articles and book chapters to her credit published by IIUM Press, USIM and UMS. She is also the co-author of Teori Kaunseling dan Psikoterapi, which has won several awards such as Highest Royalty Award 2015 (Malay Book category) and Best-Selling Award 2015 (Malay Book Category from USIM. Ruhaya has also presented papers at national and international conferences, both in Malaysia and overseas including New Zealand. Currently, she is doing research on work-family issues and work-family friendly policies.

Ruhaya is currently affiliated with a number of professional bodies such as Malaysian Psychological Association (life member), Malaysian Counselling Association (member), and New Zealand Positive Psychology Association (member).
